Each of your instructors has decades of experience learning about and using herbs for medicine and food. They are veteran guides to the beauty and bounty of our Earth. They include: Pam Hyde-Nakai, a Tucson herbalist who founded the Sonoran Herbal Institute in 1994, and brings a deep connection with desert plants and people; Meg Keoppen, herbalist, wildcrafter, master gardener and chef whose home is in the land we will visit. She is creator of Desert Bounty Herbs and will be the chef for the week. Martha Ames Burgess of Tucson is an ethnobotanist with a wealth of knowledge about the plants and people of Sonora. She will help us develop an intimate relationship with the plants using ethical wildcrafting and delectable, traditional preparation techniques.
